Question to Ponder
Nov. 4th, 2008 10:37 amWhat exactly are the properties of a sex machine that inspired James Brown to select them as the paradigmatic exemplar of "stay[ing] on the scene?"
Perhaps in the late 1960s when the song was written, sex machines were similar to the computers of that era in being room sized pieces of equipment that were thus hard to transport?
Or perhaps the well known regulations preventing sex machines from being shipped across state lines also extended to forbidding their removal from crime scenes and the like?
My internet searches have so far revealed nothing conclusive.
